Hurray! You know what today is? It’s Lesbian Visibility Day!
(the more you know about the history of lesbian visibility, the more ironic the fact that nobody seems to know this)
I had set myself the goal of launching my website today because symbolism and here I am, doing the thing, so I’m pretty proud right now.
Okay so what is this, you may wonder?
Well, this is me having realized that I’d much rather return to writing original fiction instead of fanfiction, but I’m not terribly interested in making money. And I don’t want to lose my fandom peeps. And I quite like the instant gratification of posting new chapters. And for that matter, I miss running a blog. (that’s a real blog, youngling heathens, with words, not a Tumblr)
Also I’ve grown more and more aware of how many places there are in the world where you can’t just step into an LGBTQ bookstore and buy a lesbian book. That sucks. I don’t like not doing something about things that suck. And my dissertation on the Holocaust is finished, so I need something new to improve my karma. (you think I’m joking about the genocide, don’t you? I’m German. I’d never.)
So before long I’m going to start posting something longish and multi-chaptered, but first let’s start with the short stories.
You wanna get updates, you have the choice between following my Tumblr, my Twitter or signing up to my newsletter. (if you’re German, mind that there is a German version also on www.patricia-penn.de)
Meanwhile here’s the very first fic for you: A Gift of Words, a lesbian urban fantasy set in 1994 Boston. Enjoy!
Why people still use to read news papers when in this technological world everything is available on web?
When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added”
checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get four emails with
the same comment. Is there any way you can remove me from that service?
Bless you!
